I’m Ella Rennings, the author behind the Unbothered universe, a growing collection of books,
stories, and commentary created for women who have reached the point where peace, freedom,
and self-respect matter more than performing for anyone else.
I write especially for women over 50 who are done shrinking, settling, overexplaining, and
measuring the value of their lives by whether or not they are in a relationship.
My work explores modern dating, relationships, independence, aging, boundaries, friendship,
reinvention, and the confidence that comes from finally knowing yourself well enough to stop
negotiating against your own peace.
I’m not anti-love. I’m not anti-relationship. And I’m certainly not anti-romance.
I simply don’t believe a woman is unfinished because she is single.
That belief is at the heart of the Unbothered Single Movement.
Through my books, I write about what I call “the other side of love”  that place where women
are no longer chasing, fixing, proving, rescuing, or waiting to be chosen. Instead, they are
choosing themselves, creating lives they genuinely enjoy, and discovering that freedom can be
every bit as fulfilling as romance.
The Unbothered universe includes titles such as I Am My Own Soulmate, Swipe, Block, Repeat,
Walking Red Flags, I Left Him in the “Amazon” Reviews, Swipe Left on Sanity, and Do Not
Resuscitate: Tales of Dating, Madness, and Freedom.
My writing is witty, honest, emotionally intelligent, and occasionally a little mischievous. I like
stories about grown women who are living, laughing, learning, setting boundaries, changing their
minds, and realizing that peace is not a consolation prize.
It is the prize.
The Unbothered universe is also growing beyond books into community, music, merchandise,
digital media, and conversations about what it really means to live fully on your own terms.
At the center of it all is one simple idea:
You do not need to wait for someone else to arrive before your life can begin.
Your life is already happening.
And you are allowed to enjoy every bit of it.
